Spirituality
At Dilton Marsh C of E Primary School, we define Spirituality as 'The awareness of being connected to something bigger than ourselves can give us a sense of worth and purpose, and values to guide us along life's path'.
We teach this through 4 areas:
- Ourselves
- Others
- The World and Beauty
- Beyond
Spirituality is taught through weekly reflection times in class and is also woven into the curriculum and Collective Worship.
To help our children understand the concept of a[irituality, we have adopted an image drawn by one of our Year 6 children.
This is front and central to talking about spirituality.
Each term we centre on one question or concept which is broadly centred on one of the 4 areas. This is then explored in class reflection times and recorded in class reflection books. These reflection times lead into a class worship.
