Year 5 Parliament Week

15th November 2023

Last week, Beech Class were learning about Parliament and democracy through elections for Parliament Week. From their learning, the children co-ordinated a ‘Biscuit Election’. Children had to represent different parties and campaign across Key Stage Two to gain votes for the best biscuit.

Ballot Day was on Thursday and Beech Class had to run the polling station, count the votes and share their campaign strategies. They had a lot of fun and we are pleased to announce that the ‘Oreo Party’ gained the majority vote by a total landslide.

Elliot from Beech Class said, “The winning party (pictured above) are proud to have won the election using our slogan of, Twist it, Lick it, Stick it, Vote for it!”

We are now looking forward to eating the real Oreos!
